Well, it looks like one of the desk systems you would find at Staples, Office Depot, or Office Max. Its a cherry finish veneer, possibly mahogany, but hard to tell from the pic.

Why dont you just email them and ask where they got the desk?

Use a Mister Clean Magic Eraser (grocery store or Wal-mart). Wet it and rub lightly. If they are a deposit scratch this will take them out. To make the surface look really nice, grab a can of furniture polish and a rubber glove. Spray the polish on and work it in with the glove. After a minute or so, wipe off the polish with a soft cloth.

If the Magic eraser doesn't work, you have a surface removal scratch. Buy a Sharpie in the closet color you can find and carefully color it in. Then follow the polishing steps above.

Auto parts stores have little paint containers that match all kinds of paint colors--it should help hide the scratch. They are pretty much like nail polish but don't have glitter!

Try a 3m pad scrubber thingy with any household cleaner. DO NOT USE ANYTHING LIKE STEAL WOOL. WD40 or hair spray works also as a cleaner..

If the marks are black they should come off with a cloth and some furniture oil. You can also try a magic eraser. Scratches leave a whiter wood tone. Are the skuffs on the wood or the desk top laminate surface?

California Closets provides the entire package from consultation to design to construction to installation.

If you were to go the local contractor route, you would have to also hire all of the other components that California Closets offer, such as design consultant, architect, contractor, inspection, etc..

My advice:

Go the California Closets route (they are also contractors).

You are dealing with one company that has incorporated the entire team into a complete system; that would customize your office based on how you work.
